Hanging Pictures - Weekend Inspiration

This weekend I'm going to hang some pictures up around my house. Fingers cross I don't end up with more holes in the walls than I do hooks. Wish me luck! Have a great weekend everyone.

Come over and visit next week and read a little piece I have been working on for a wee while now. It's about how Primitive Living has snuck into our urban lives.

Sleeping On The Moon

We all know it but I will say it again. Sometimes the simplest ideas can be the most wonderful and inspiring. Sleeping on the moon during a weekend afternoon... How divine.
When Ollie my fiance asked me on our first date he said "Would I like to walk on the moon with him?" I thought it was a little kooky so I replied "yes". Next thing I knew we were walking into the Imax theater and putting on oversized 3D glasses. The lights went down and we were on the moon.
Have a lovely weekend and see you on Monday.

Picasso

Picasso never dates! I was watching British talent show X-Factor (yes I watch it) on the television and one of the commercials had people making all these wonderful shapes with a light. I knew I had seen this before and Bam guess what? I found all these wonderful pictures on the LIFE website. I think we should all get a torch and do a little Picasso in our own homes. I would love to see your results

My Desk Is My Home

I had a tweet a couple of weeks ago from British Illustrator extraordinaire Mark Howe stating 'Amanda my desk is my home'. Well of course I had to check it out on his website. I also learned that his skills consist of thinking outside the box, thinking whilst hiding behind the box and thinking whilst wearing the box as a hat. Plus, he dislikes clip art, spiders, rain, The Daily Mail, porridge, rust, bagpipes, TV soaps, Rotherham and Coldplay. His weaknesses are laughing at his own rubbish puns, cake, Doritos, amazon.co.uk, facebook and crunchie bars. He declares his special powers are holding his breath for 27 seconds, sub-human strength, flight, laser eye treatment and lying about special powers.

A Hive of Cool Accessories

It's true I love the super hip e-boutique Rocket St George. Why? If you want something original or even extroidanary this is the stop for a hive of cool accessories. I feel like if I want I could make the items myself and if I am feeling rich I can pull out the credit card and add and add to the shopping cart. Happy shopping and get inspired!

Creativity is Chic

It’s time to re-discover your inner Pablo Picasso or Damien Hirst. For too long we have treated the home as a profit-making scheme and not as a place where you and your family can grow. Your home should represent all things YOU! Making imaginative use of resources you have available you can turn an old, beige, haze of ordinary into a home filled with things you love and make you happy. Get creative, get inventive in how you display objects and decorate a space. Let it shout from the basement to the roof ‘I live here and this is who I am'.
